Life on Mission

At St. Mark's we are on a journey together,  a Life on Mission.  We invite you to discover these destinations on our map to being disciples of Jesus.

You're invited to continue discovering what God has for you here at St. Mark's.  Sign up for the opportunities listed below to continue on your journey.  These "destinations" are all designed to help you grow spiritually, preparing you for what God has in mind while preparing you for membership and/or becoming involved in ministry.

Growing in your faith is a value that St. Mark's places upon anyone who wishes to become a member.  Below are the Destination Opportunities that will help you on your journey:

  • Join a Community Group:  at St. Mark's, one of the expectations of membership is that we all participate in a Community Group as this is a primary way to grow in faith as we do "life" together. For a list of available community groups, download our community groups brochure or check out the Community Groups page.

  • Beginnings:  This class is for anyone who wants to understand the five essential promises that God made in the Bible to each and every believer.  Whether you're a new seeker or have attended church for years, it never hurts to go back and learn where it all started.  Watch for the next Beginnings class.  Contact Jill MacKenzie for more information.H3 - Head, Heart & Hands - What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus?
  • Everything we do at St. Mark’s is aimed at helping us to grow as disciples of Jesus. Have you ever wondered, “What is a ‘disciple?’ and how do I keep growing as a disciple?” What are the landmarks that tell you if you’re on the right path? These are questions we seek to answer through interactive discussion over the course of four weeks in H3. Many Christians struggle with the concept of discipleship; it can seem like a First Class traveling section that’s reserved for people on stained glass windows. But that’s not what Jesus says. He invites each us to follow him and promises to give us every resource we’ll need to do that – and He promises joy unspeakable in the process! This class will launch you on an exciting journey with the firm conviction and thrill that you are becoming all that God intends for you to be and do. Through candid discussions and practical insights, you will discover what a disciple knows (head), what a disciple is (heart), and what a disciple does (hands). Watch for the next H3 Class coming soon!

  • Exploring Membership:  Discover more about St. Mark's.  You are invited to have lunch, meet the pastor and others from St. Mark's and determine if you are interested in becoming a member.  Childcare is available.

  • Gifted (Spiritual Gifts):  Experienced travelers know how to pack the right equipment for a journey—you wouldn’t bring your scuba gear on a hiking trip! In this incredible Life on Mission, God did the packing, and, whether we realize it or not, God has loaded us all up with spiritual gifts unique to our purpose. Understanding what gifts you have and how to use them is an important part of this expedition; if God packed scuba gear, you’d better learn to swim! During this course, we’ll help you identify your spiritual gifts and how God has equipped you to be involved in His ministry. If you’re already using your gifts, but feel God calling you in a new direction, this class can be the launchpad for you to plot a different course. God has a plan for your Life on Mission and he packed exactly what you’ll need—you can count on that! Join us for this journey of interaction and reflection as God unveils that plan. Contact Jill MacKenzie to find out more about Gifted.
  • Communion Class: Pastor Sean Rajnic leads this class in which attenders are trained about receiving and serving Communion which is a powerful spiritual blessing.  You'll learn why Jesus offered this Sacrament to us, why receiving it is a very sacred experience, and how to prepare yourself to receive the Sacrament.  Check back for the next class to be scheduled.
